Magic Of Mangosteen

The purple mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana), colloquially known simply as mangosteen, is a tropical evergreen tree believed to have originated in the Sunda Islands and the Moluccas of Indonesia. The tree grows from 7 to 25 m (20–80 ft) tall. The fruit of the mangosteen is sweet and tangy, juicy, and somewhat fibrous, with an inedible, deep reddish purple-colored rind (exocarp) when ripe.[1] In each fruit, the fragrant edible flesh that surrounds each seed is botanically endocarp, i.e., the inner layer of the ovary.[2]
The purple mangosteen belongs to the same genus as the other, less widely known, mangosteens, such as the button mangosteen (G. prainiana) or thecharichuelo (G. madruno).
A description of mangosteen was included in the Species Plantarum by Linnaeus in 1753.

Mangosteen is primarily consumed fresh, but is also canned and used to make juices and jellies.

Why I Called this fruit is “Magic Fruit”? Someday I went to the market with my mother. Then, we approached the seller mangosteen. There is nothing strange in the mangosteen displayed. Many flowers sprinkled over the fruit. According to the mother, because of the mangosteen fruit is magic. Yes, I see there is the mangosteen fruit color is much prettier than the mangosteen fruit that is not sprinkled with flowers. Some say that the mangosteen is the queen of fruits, probably because of the mangosteen is the "QUEEN" why he was fond of flowers. hahahaha
